Product Description
3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid sodium salt is a chemical compound. It is also known as 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid sodium salt or CHAPS sodium salt. It is a zwitterionic detergent widely used in biochemical and molecular biology research. It is commonly used as a mild detergent for solubilizing membrane proteins as well as stabilizing proteins in solution. It can also be used as a surfactant in various analytical techniques. The sodium salt form of this compound increases its solubility in water.
